Although Dean did not officially back Suzanne Shaw on 2008's Dancing on Ice competition he did predict from the start that she would win the show and he sent her weekly messages of support.
On Sunday March 16th Suzanne beat 1/5 on hot favourite Chris Fountain to pick up the trophy. Dean has been given a thank you on Suzanne's official website:

Dean backed Jodie Prenger from day one of BBC's I'd Do Anything and on Saturday May 31st Jodie won the Final and will now play the role of Nancy in London's West End.
This piece was taken from a article confirming Dean was backing Jodie: "Dean is hoping his luck will carry over into his next venture, namely supporting Jodie Prenger in her quest to become the new Nancy in hit musical Oliver, through BBC 1’s I’ll Do Anything show. Dean said: “Now my Grand National dalliance is over, I’m turning my attention to supporting Jodie."
Dean would like to thank Samantha Haysom and Jodie's mum for their kind words of thanks and support. Good luck for the future Jodie!
Jodie is Nancy!
A week before Wimbledon 2008 Midas advised the media that Andy Murray would go on to do really well in the tournement even though most thought he wouldn't even make it as he had pulled out of Queens two weeks before with a hand injury.
On a barmy Monday summers evening on the 30th June Andy Murray reached his first Grand Slam quarter-final with one of the most extraordinary comebacks in Wimbledon history.
Trailing by 2 sets and with Gasquet 5-4 up and serving for the match Andy came back to win: 5-7, 3-6, 7-6, 6-2, 6-4.
After Andy Murray told the media "That was the best moment I've ever had on a tennis court"
Here is a link to "that shot" or as the BBC called it "Murray's magic third set moment"
Andy Murray finally lost to the eventual Wimbledon champion Rafael Nadal, in the last 8.

It seems Dean's Midas touch has stayed with Andy Murray, since wimbledon he has reached the semi final of the Toronto masters, in August he won the Cincinnati masters, in September he reached the final of the US Open pushing him to number 4 in the world and in October he won the Madrid Masters, in doing so, he becomes the first person ever to hold the Cincinnati and Madrid titles back to back.
