Update - May 2009

Against all the odds Stoke City assured Premiership survival for another year just as Dean had predicted back in July 2008.

Dean said "No one outside of Stoke gave me a chance with this prediction and bookmakers Paddy Power even paid out on their relegation after just one game, whose laughing now eh?"

Luton Town - League II (2008/2009)

Another team who look like they need Dean's help this season are Luton Town who start the new campaign on -30 points... Dean was recently featured in this article on Dunstable Today's website.

Update - April 6th 2009

After starting the season on -30 points Luton Town finished the season on a massive high beating League One high flyers Scunthorpe United 3-2 after extra time at Wembley in front of 55,000 (40,000 were from Luton).

After yesterday's wonderful win and if they do go down they will at least go out of the Football League with dignity and glory and ready for next season.

Dean said "No one gave Luton a chance today, but yet again I am involved with the underdog coming out on top, everyone involved with Luton Town deserved this moment, the players, the manager but most importantly the fans, who have been nothing short of brilliant this season."

Dean was honoured to receive this message the day after the final from Luton Town owner Nick Owen: "We are thrilled and I appreciate your thoughts and support. Up the Hatters."

Update - April 13th 2009

On Monday 13th April Luton Town were finally relegated after a hard fought season long battle.

Club Chairman Nick Owen said "Our club is now stronger than ever: psychologically, spiritually and financially"

Manager Mick Harford said "I looked at the clock in the dressing room and said to the players: remember this time, five to five on 13th April. This is the rebirth of Luton Town Football Club." "We will go forward, we will kick-on. There are lots of people worse off than Luton Town Football Club."

"They are winners. We've got a group of winners. They've won a trophy this season. There are millions and millions of players who have never won a trophy and this group of players did."

On Friday 5th September Rachel was confirmed as the shock winner of the show after beating odds on favourite Mickey Hughes.

The Final result was Rachel 51.3% vs Mikey 48.7%

The next morning Rachel's brother Joe sent Dean this message "Thanks for supporting Rachel Dean"

During Big Brother Dean also did an eviction prediction for Alpha FM every Friday evening with Andrew Gasgoigne and then did a follow up on the Saturday morning with Mike Patterson to see if he had got it right.

Dean went on to predict 11 out of 12 evictions correctly.

Non League Today (November 1st 2008)

On a cold Autumn Sunday morning Dean was advised by a friend that he had a feature in national weekly paper, non league today.

Here is the article, Dean would like to thank Steve Whitney for all the nice comments, it really is appreciated.

Back Of The Net By Editor Steve Whitney.

Midas Touch!
They say all good things come to an end. Well I was very proud of the fact that my Wellingborough Town under-18 side had gone over a year unbeaten in the league, stretching back to October 15th 2007, until going down to a last-minute 2-1 defeat to Rothwell Town on Wednesday night.
However, although undoubtedly the lads were not at their best by any means, after kicking both cats and my dog on numerous occasions after returning home, I suddenly realised why we had lost that long unbeaten run!
On the table at home was a now screwed-up piece of paper that was once the luck that had helped us on our way. Prior to October 15th 2007 we had lost two out of three games. I received an email from well-known Psychic Dean Maynard, who was informing me how he had a hand in helping Torquay beat Yeovil in the FA Cup.
I jokingly wrote back saying that I could do with some psychic assistance, and he sent me an attachment to download which was in the form of a strange-looking logo. He said I should keep it with me during matches and it was sure to help. I did this and we embarked on that great unbeaten league run.
On Wednesday I discovered that my wife had washed a pair of trousers without looking in the pockets and duly washed the pair containing Dean's `magic` logo. Although the logo is still visible, the luck has obviously been washed off!
Something in it, or rubbish?
Well, Dean has been involved with some other extraordinary things, most famously when his record brought him to the attention of the Chicago White Sox baseball team, who went on to win the World Series in 2005 for the first time in 88 years!
He also offered his support to the Wigan Warriors rugby league team in their bid to escape relegation, after which they won nine out of ten games and survived after being rock bottom.
He also claims to have helped his home-town club Reading storm to the Championship title and win promotion to the Premiership in 2005/06.
Maynard has also backed many celebrities around the world and is currently supporting Laura White on ITV`s `X-Factor`. Whether it is rubbish or not, I have certainly emailed Dean for another of his `magic` logos which will hopefully arrive before our next league game!
