In February 2012, Dean was 66/1 with William Hill to become a judge on the X Factor, by mid May he was down to just 25/1.
Dean said "I am now the same odds as Noel Gallagher to be an X Factor judge, which in itself is remarkable but I know I would do a good job, if asked."
Reasons for the huge odds drop, range from Dean's ever growing reputation for spotting talent, guest judges rumoured to be sitting in on auditions and the fact that he recently predicted that Ashleigh & Pudsey would win BGT. Not one of the judges including Simon Cowell or any of the three presenting team did.
"My dream is to judge someone at the Newcastle auditions on June 18th."

On Thursday 22nd March 2012, Dean attended the press launch of Britain's Got Talent in London.
He also got to meet and shake hands with a certain Mr Simon Cowell.
Dean said "Simon was about to go in to the press launch with his back to me and Josh (Tellymix Editor) so I shouted his name, he turned round walked over and shook my hand, and said enjoy the show. I have to admit, it was pretty cool."

On Friday 17th February 2012 Dean was honoured to be a judge at the Final of Northumbria's Got Talent.

Dean's Midas work was featured on Soccer AM after he backed Helen Chamberlain's Torquay United to a famous FA Cup shock.
For the FIFTH year in a row Dean beat a team of professional tipsters at the Grand National. Dean's Midas picks came 1st (Ballabriggs) and 2nd (Oscar Time), whilst they finished with a 2nd and 3rd. Dean said "I am over the moon to keep my unbeaten record against a team of professional tipsters and even happier with a 1st and 2nd."

On Friday 8th April 2011 Dean arranged a Scream ghost hunt at the Manor House Hotel, West Auckland with all proceeds going to the Alzheimer's Society.

On Saturday February 5th 2011, Midas club Newcastle United staged what pundits called the comeback of all comebacks by drawing 4-4 with Arsenal after being 4-0 down.

Back in January 2010, Dean Midas approached Chico about the possibility of changing the title of his 2006 number one hit from 'It's Chico Time' to 'It's England Time' for the World Cup, not thinking for a minute that he would take it on.
A day later 'It's England Time' was recorded and played for the first time on the Chris Moyles show on BBC Radio One.
In March the video was filmed at the famous Pinewood studios and on 7 June the record was released and premiered on GMTV the same day. The launch party was then held at The Embassy nightclub in London.
Since that day in January Chico has continued to mention Dean's involvement including national mentions in Heat Magazine (above), three occasions on GMTV & on Live from Studio Five amongst many many others.
In July 2009 Dean made this prediction with regards to 2010's winter.
White Christmas in 2009
Back on June 25th 2008 Dean predicted for Chat it's Fate that Britain would see a rare White Christmas in 2009.
On Christmas Day the Met office confirmed it was 'officially' Britains first White Christmas for 5 years.
